With the spotlight once again on our beloved protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, fans are in for a thrilling ride in this upcoming movie, which will unfold amidst the backdrop of the anime’s sixth season, which aired last year. In the film’s anime expo panel today, it was revealed that My Hero Academia: You’re Next will be coming to the US on October 11. The latest entry in the My Hero Academia film series is scheduled to hit Japanese theatres on August 2, 2024.

Toho Co., Ltd, the distribution partner, have recently treated fans with a brand new trailer for the upcoming Hero Aca spectacle that you can check it out here.

The teaser offers plenty of drama and intrigue as it sees Deku and friends encountering what looks to be an enigmatic All Might doppelganger, Dark Might.

The brief teaser showcases the spotlight on Dark Might’s criminal syndicate, as well as the number one hero, Endeavour, and the core group of Class 1A students like Ochaco, Bakugo, Todoroki and Deku, who are all set to take centre stage in this feature film, with the latter character’s yell of “The likes of you could never be All Might!” setting the scene for the film. The trailer ends with Dark Might (voiced by Kenta Miyake) claiming that there’s a new symbol, replacing All Might’s Symbol of Peace, before cutting into the My Hero Academia Movie 4 release date of August. 

Behind the Scenes:

The creative talent behind My Hero Academia Movie 4 includes series creator Kohei Horikoshi, who will supervise the film and provide the character designs for this new saga, with Tensai Okamura (Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow) directing the film. Studio BONES, who are doing the main anime series and have also done all the previous films, are set to be in charge of animation once again, with Toho promising the fans a story and an action spectacle that is all set to be the best one yet in the series’ already impressive previous entries.

The anime’s beloved composer, Yuuki Hayashi, is also set to return for the movie.

My Hero Academia movies have been just as big of a hit globally as they have been domestically in Japan, and with the anime’s extremely intense and action-packed Season 7 airing right now, there is plenty of excitement in the air for the movie and the exciting cinematic adventure the upcoming movie promises to be.
