SPY x FAMILY has been the Most-Watched Anime of 2022 in Bilibili Asia, with over 173 million views on the platform. The slice-of-life comedy from Shonen Jump has left the likes of Demon Slayer Season 2 and Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 behind in viewership in Bilibili’s Asian Streaming platform (operating in Asian countries excluding Mainland China).
The anime has gained a huge following and has been met with widespread praise and rave reviews from both the critics and the audiences for its wholesome lighthearted setting and family-friendly appeal.
The Entertainment District Arc from Demon Slayer Season 2 was the Second Most-Watched Anime of 2022 in Asia and saw over 112 million views on Bilibili. Demon Slayer has become quite the global sensation since the pandemic and continued its red hot streak with its sophomore season, which became one of the most popular and talked about seasons from an anime in recent times with its broadcast in the Winter last year.
Demon Slayer Season 3 is scheduled to return this April and will cover the Swordsmith Village Arc. Meanwhile, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village, a film compilation of the last two episodes of Season 2 and the first two episodes of Season 3, is coming to the big screens in the United States and Canada on Friday, March 3 in both Japanese with English subtitles, as well as dubbed in English.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 was the Third Most-Watched Anime of 2022 on Bilibili Asia, racking up over 72 million views during the year. Attack on Titan is scheduled to return with the First Part of Part 3 of its Final Season this March, with the Final Part set to air later this year.
The hit rom-com anime from Cloverworks, My Dress-Up Darling, which became an instant hit among anime fans with its premiere last Winter, has garnered over 43 million views on Bilibili Asia and is the Fourth Most-Watched Anime of 2022 on the platform.
Meanwhile, Bleach, which returned after over a decade with its Thousand Year Blood War Arc, took the Fifth Spot on the list. Within just the last three months, the anime series has gained over 32 million views on the platform.
While Thousand Year Blood War saw its fair share of popularity around the globe, the Bleach franchise has an insane amount of hype in Southeast Asia and has quite a loyal fanbase in the region.
