Television has changed drastically in the last ten years. From popular sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family dominating the network ratings every week and The CW dramas such as The Vampire Diaries and Riverdale being the favourite among the teenage demographic, to where we are now, the golden period of streaming, where it seems like every streaming services is releasing another teen drama or supernatural mystery every other week. There’s just so much TV to choose from.

Today, we are taking a look at the biggest and most followed TV Shows of all time on Instagram.
Stranger Things, Friends, and Money Heist make up the Top 3.
Stranger Things takes the first spot on the list and is the only TV Show that has over 20 million followers on its Instagram handle.
It’s not that big of a surprise that this Netflix series is in the top spot, considering how many viewership records it has broken for the streaming giants.
Stranger Things Season 4 (both the volumes combined) logged in over 1.352 Billion Viewing Hours during the first 28 days of its release, which was the most for any English-language series on Netflix ever and twice more than the second most popular season of an English TV Show, Bridgerton Season 2, which garnered over 656 million viewing hours in the same period.
The popular Latin TV Show, Money Heist, takes the second spot on the list with over 12.5 million followers.
Friends concludes the Top 3 with over 11.8 million followers on Instagram. The beloved sitcom is hailed by many as the Best Sitcom of All Time and continues to enjoy a massive fan following almost three decades after the broadcast of the Pilot of the series.
Friends is also the only series from the 90s to make the first half of the list.
Riverdale is the Most Popular Ongoing Network TV Show on Social Media.
Riverdale takes the next spot on the list as it has over 11.4 million followers on Instagram.
The series has been a big hit among teenagers and the younger demographic ever since it first premiered in 2017 and has even won several MTV Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and Teen Choice Awards.
Riverdale, which is also the Most-Followed Ongoing Network Drama on Instagram, will come to an end with Season 7 of the series airing next year.

Pretty Little Liars is the only other TV Show that has over 10 million followers on the list and occupies the fifth place.
HBO’s sensation, Game of Thrones, which was probably the biggest TV Show of the last decade, takes the next spot with over 8.5 million followers on Instagram, while The Walking Dead is in the eighth spot garnering over 7.2 million followers on the popular social media platform.
The Flash remains the Most Popular Comic-book TV Series on Social Media.
The CW’s The Flash is the Most-Followed Comicbook TV Series on social media, with over 4.2 million followers.
The success of The Flash has led to small-screen adaptations of many other comic-book projects, be it DC or Marvel or any other publication. The show’s first season was groundbreaking for The CW, with an average viewership of over 4 million. And the beloved superhero show also went on to become a global sensation with Netflix and local broadcasting deals in different countries.
Although now it feels like quite some time ago, Arrowverse used to be huge and had a humongous following on social media. Its impact on the superhero landscape on television has been monumental.
The Flash will be coming to an end with Season 9 of The CW’s flagship series next year.
