My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission has officially become the highest-grossing film of the franchise worldwide with just its domestic release.
The film has been enjoying an extremely successful run at the Japanese Box Office ever since its release on August 6 as the film has now made over more than 30 million dollars in the box office within a little over two months of its release.
The record was previously held by the second movie in the franchise, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising. Heroes Rising made $16.2 million at the Japanese box office by the end of its run and made more than $13 million in the United States in just two weeks.
Heroes Rising also set a record for the highest-grossing debut for an anime film outside of Japan at that time when it came out in March 2020. Although the film was disrupted by the pandemic and made a total of $29.9 million worldwide.
My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission was reported to have earned a total of 2.06 billion yen (U.S. $18.7 million) with 1.58 million admissions within just three weeks of its release. The movie kept its impressive streak in the following week bringing its total to about the U.S. $22 million in the last week of August, making U.S. $3.3 million in its third full week at the Japanese Box Office.
The movie has since gone on to make U.S. $30.4 million after ten weeks since the movie first premiered in the country.

It is notable that the latest movie of the franchise had already surpassed the previous two films’ lifetime gross at the Japanese box office with 1.58 million admissions despite the pandemic restrictions.
My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission has been almost twice as successful in Japan than any other big Hollywood blockbusters of the year so far outperforming both Marvel’s Shang-Chi and No Time to Die in the Japanese Box Office.

My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission Made U.S. $8.5 Million in its First Weekend.
My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission opened in Japanese theaters on August 6 and earned approximately 940 million yen (U.S. $8.5 million) in its first four days with 720,000 admissions over the 4-day long weekend, which is reportedly 200.2% more than My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising.

The first film of the My Hero Academia franchise, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, was released in August 2018 and made around $4.5 million in its first three days. The film went on to earn a total of $15.6 million at the domestic box office while making a whopping $27.5 million worldwide.
My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising made $3.8 million in its first three days when it opened in Japan in December 2019.
The third My Hero Academia movie is finally out in the United States and Canada now. The franchise is already a huge phenomenon in both of these countries and judging by how its demand has increased over time, My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission could even break around $50 million at the box office worldwide.
The movie is currently heading towards an opening weekend of $7 million to $10 million in the American Box Office.
My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission will be hitting the theatres across Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom later this weekend.
