With the series seeing a significant rise in popularity and spikes in manga sales, we thought now would be a good time to ask the manga fans what they think about the anime so far. And, here’s what they had to say:

“I’ve only gotten up to chapter 47 or 49 of the manga but it’s honestly been amazing. The whole series is right up my alley. Everything from the power system to the character designs really interests me and always have my attention. The art work in the manga is one of my favourites too! Moving onto the anime, it’s exactly what is expected from MAPPA! The animation is honestly one of the bests I’ve seen in a while, it feels like I’m watching a movie with some scenes. There’s only 3 episodes out right now, but I can’t wait to see more and get back to reading the manga again.

“I’m not an avid manga reader nor do I read every shonen manga currently releasing right now but Jujutsu Kaisen was one of those that easily caught my attention. Can I just say that I love the art style???? It’s so sketchy and it fits the series so much!!! Like, I cannot imagine JJK with a different art style, Gege really snapped on this one! The story and the power system both are so complex and it’s the type of manga that almost absolutely requires a reread to understand & enjoy it fully, but don’t worry it’s so worth your time, I promise!!! Also, OMG!!!! The characters so far are so amazing, they’re so humane and you can just feel and understand their emotions. For the anime, it’s just AMAZING. HAVE YOU SEEN THE ANIMATION???? It is so goooood. OMG!!!!! MAPPA really brought our characters to life like that. The VAs are astounding and perfect for each of the characters. We haven’t reached any major fight scenes yet but oof I can already tell its gonna slap??? ALSO, the anime added some extra scenes to flesh out the story and characters more, which is just great !! Even manga onlies gotta watch the anime too at this point or they’re gonna miss out on some cool shit. All in all, the Jujutsu Kaisen anime is off to a great start and the manga is already amazing. I recommend everybody to start reading the manga too after the anime is done”

@hyomozu

“Jujutsu Kaisen is the next big Shonen Jump mega-hit. With the Demon Slayer manga ending, Jump really needed a new big hit and I think Jujutsu Kaisen will be just that. From the anime standpoint, Mappa did everything write from animation to music to adapting from the source material, everything’s been spot-on. Almost a 1:1 adaptation. As long as Mappa stays consistent with the series, I can see it reaching Demon Slayer/My Hero Academia status soon.”

@Killuasdriipp

“Well, mostly everything seems pretty closely accurate story-wise. The animation is so impressive and I think they’re adapting it well so far. There were a couple of unnecessary scenes that weren’t as accurate. But other than that it’s been really great to see it come to life!”

@JujutsuShots

I could definitely see the Jujutsu Kaisen manga as one of ,if not my favorite manga that I have had the pleasure of reading. The side characters are extremely fresh and new with a nice power concept for cursed energy. And don’t even get me started on the amazing designs for the villains and their abilities. Also how can we forget about the coolest sensei that has the mystery of Kakashi and the power of a god. The manga is great and it’s only gonna get better from here. As far as the anime is concerned, it gave me Bleach vibes when the curses were being mentioned but it is definitely its own idea and has a lot of lore behind it. I think the animation style is really nice and fresh. The first two episodes were really enjoyable to watch and I have definitely gone back to watch them again. I do like the different start of the anime and how it starts with Yuuji in the chamber already because it leaves a lot of mystery that way, and it just leaves me wanting to watch more. I think the anime is gonna do a great job representing the manga and I can’t wait till we see more of what the show has to offer in terms of the rest of the cast. Both the manga and the Jujutsu Kaisen anime hold together as a solid series so far.
