Tokyo Revengers has dominated the Oricon Monthly Charts for the last twelve months as it has been the top-selling manga series for eight of those. The series has released three volumes this year with Volume 25, which was released in December, being the Best-Selling Volume of the year so far for the manga, selling over 1.05 million copies as of March.

Volume 26 of the series has sold 984,000 copies as of May 6. While Volume 27, which was released last month has already sold over 785,000 copies within the first four weeks of its release.

The manga is currently in its final arc on Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.

One Piece is currently at the third spot with the release of Volume 102 of the series in April, but SPY x FAMILY surpassing it next week is imminent. The series sold over 1.5 million copies in April including backlogs and was the third Best-Selling Manga Series of the month.

The previous volume of One Piece was released in December and sold more than 1.7 million copies. Volume 101 currently remains the Second Best-Selling Manga Volume for the fiscal year.

Top 25 Best-Selling Manga 2022; Spy x Family

With the anime off to a staggering start and the release of Volume 9 of the manga series coinciding with the premiere of the anime as well, SPY x FAMILY has now become the 4th Best-Selling Manga of the year in Japan and was also the Best-Selling Manga Series for the month of April.

SPY x FAMILY has sold over 2.9 million copies in backlogs this year while Volume 9 has now sold over 1.1 million copies in just over a month. Yes, that is more than any of the three volumes of Tokyo Revengers released this year.

All the previous volumes of SPY x FAMILY have also been consistently charting amongst the Top 20 Manga in Oricon every week now, with the very first volume now having sold more than 1.9 million copies.

The series now has over 18 million copies in circulation in Japan and with its humongous success, it certainly wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the series is well on its way to crossing 10 million copies in sales for 2022 by the end of this fiscal year.

Meanwhile, Demon Slayer has now fallen to the sixth spot in yearly charts selling over 2.525 million copies this year so far.

Mystery to Iu Nakare is now also out of the Top 5 following the conclusion of the broadcast of the immensely successful Television Drama Adaptation which premiered in January on Fuji TV.

The TV Series starring Masaki Suda scored more than 20 million viewers every week with Live+7 DVR viewing as the manga reached 15 million copies in circulation during the broadcast.

Mystery to Iu Nakare (Do Not Say Mystery) has sold over 2.475 million copies in the fiscal year of 2022. The series has also been nominated for the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize alongside Young Jump’s Oshi no Ko, JoJolion (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 8), and Kaiju No. 8 from Jump+.

Kaiju No. 8 has continued its remarkable run and is currently in 8th place on the list following the release of its latest volume in March which has already sold over an insane 650,000 copies. The series’ estimated total for this fiscal year is now more than 1.81 million copies, as it remains the only manga in the Top 10 without a TV adaptation.

Kaiju No. 8 also won the Next Manga Awards of 2021 for Best Manga (Digital Category).

My Dress-Up Darling is the Top-Selling Romance Manga of 2022 right now.

The breakout hit of the Winter 2022 Anime Season, My Dress-Up Darling, has now sold over 1.675 million copies with the conclusion of the broadcast of the TV Anime and the release of its latest volume in March. The series has become the Top-Selling Romance Manga of 2022 and is also one of the biggest rom-com of recent years.

Volume 9 debuted with a whopping 127,089 copies in its first three days even surpassing both the volumes of Kaguya-sama: Love is War released this year, which sold over 90,000 and 85,000 copies respectively in the same time frame. The only Romance Manga series that has managed to sell over 100,000 copies in just three days over the last couple of years aside from the former two is The Quintessential Quintuplets and Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku.

Volume 9 has now sold over a whopping 290,000 copies, achieving a very rare and incredible feat for a romance manga.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime concludes the first half of the list with the release of Volume 20 of the series in March. The latest volume of the manga has already sold over 450,000 copies bringing the total for the series to just above 1.435 million copies for this year.

The latest volume of Blue Lock was released in Mid-March and went on to sell a massive 185,000 copies within the first four weeks of its release.

With the series showing so much potential prior to the anime, it would not be wrong to say that it might just even challenge Kodansha’s blockbuster hit, Tokyo Revengers, once the anime starts its broadcast.

Another notable entry in the bottom half of the list is Dr. Stone, which is in 14th place selling over 1.14 million copies within this fiscal year.
