This puts it way above the 43 million accounts that Over The Moon brought to the platform or the 38 million accounts that The Willoughbys saw tuning into it in the same period.

It is also notable that Army of the Dead is now tied with Project Power at the eighth spot as Netflix’s most-watched films. Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction remains the platform’s most-watched feature film with 99 million accounts tuning in to it.

Most Popular TV Shows of 2021 on Netflix So Far:

Netflix’s original TV programming also continues to be doing remarkable. With the streaming giant’s latest DC comics outing, Sweet Tooth, being its biggest hit of the year so far with more than 60 million accounts tuning in to the show within the first 28 days.

The first season of the fantasy series based on Grishaverse, Shadow and Bone, also did tremendously well as it saw an estimated viewing figure of 55 million accounts in its initial run.  Lupin has also continued the momentum from its insane hype that the first part which dropped in January got with 54 million accounts returning for Part 2.

As far as the returning shows are concerned, the Spanish teen drama Elite returned with its fourth season last month and has continued to dominate the Netflix charts with 37 million accounts tuning in to it while the second season of the Mexican crime thriller, Who Killed Sara? garnered 34 million accounts.

Meanwhile, its more unique and spicy reality shows offerings also continue to rack up impressive numbers as Season 2 of the dating show Too Hot to Handle, pulled off a massive 29 million accounts to its doorstep while the sophomore season of The Circle, a social experiment reality program attracted an estimated 14 million accounts.

It should be noted that Netflix’s popularity and viewing statistics come with a big catch as the streaming service counts a show or movie as watched after somebody played it for a mere two minutes.

Netflix’s viewership system does differ vastly from others such as Nielsen ratings which pretty much track the entirety of TV programming. And just about anybody might play anything for 2 minutes without actually watching it any further if not found to their liking.
